Not bad, but can’t be removed once it’s installed

I bought the app and liked it, but at a certain point I realised that I just wasn’t using it. The improvements in Spotlight under Mavericks made it largely redundant for me. So I tried to get it to stop loading at login. And then it went badly.

For the life of me I can’t figure out how to stop it from automatically loading. I turned off the preference, made sure it wasn’t in my Users login items, checked LaunchItems, even used grep to try to find where it’s being referenced. No luck. I’ve emailed the company and posted on their Facebook page twice with no responses so far.

As much as it’s a decent piece of software, I can’t recommend something that can’t be cleanly removed from a developer that is unresponsive.
